Le Grand-Bornand has been the start town for three stages of the Tour de France, in 1995, 1999 and 2007.
It was the finish of a stage in 2004, 2007, 2009 and more recently, in 2013!!
Le Grand-Bornand has a total of 42 downhill or ‘alpin’ pistes covering a distance of approximately 90kms. These pistes cover all levels from the beginner to the more accomplised skier; the majority are for the beginners but, if you are looking for challenges in the forest, you simply need to go higher to Chinaillon and enjoy the forests and the tougher pistes!
