The picturesque, traditional village of La Clusaz is quite often cited as one of the Haute Savoie’s best-kept secrets: despite the boom in property, this lively and friendly ski village has managed to retain its French Charm and it’s natural beauty. It’s a village that is open all year and located less than one hour from Geneva and about 35 minutes from Annecy.
La Clusaz is part of the Aravis mountain range and, for the skier offers numerous possibilies: over 130km of groomed trails stretch out over five inter-connected ski areas. Beginners will be happy as over half the pistes at La Clusaz are set out for them – this does not mean, however, that more advanced skiers will run out of terrain quickly!! Two the of world’s most recent freeride and freestyle champions were raised in La Clusaz and still live here!! With many woodland areas and open bowls, off piste is never very far away!!
It is possible to ski down into the village at the end of the day and, when you get there, you will not be disappointed: There are many bars, cafés and restaurants where you can chillout after a hard ski and enjoy that well-earned beer!!
